Was the biggest case of his career the worst mistake he ever made?

Ten years ago, DCI Jack Logan stopped the serial child-killer dubbed “Mister Whisper”, earning himself a commendation, a drinking problem, and a broken marriage in the process.

Now, he spends his days working in Glasgow’s Major Investigations Team, and his nights reliving the horrors of what he saw.

And what he did.

When another child disappears a hundred miles north in the Highlands, Jack is sent to lead the investigation and bring the boy home.

But as similarities between the two cases grow, could it be that Jack caught the wrong man all those years ago?

And, if so, is the real Mister Whisper about to claim his fourth victim?

A Litter of Bones is the explosive debut crime thriller novel from JD Kirk, an exciting new voice in Scottish crime fiction.

A definite for fans of this genre. Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed this book. First one I have read by this author JD Kirk, and it won’t be the last. Loved DCI Logan. An old fashioned police officer who does not adhere to the rules, and is determined to get the killer. Many twists and turns leading to a thrilling climax. Well worth the read.

Highly recommended This book grabs you from the first chapter. I loved the characters, plot and conclusion. I just couldn’t put it down and read it in record time.I’ve pre ordered the next Logan novel and really hope it’s as good as the first.

Not Recommended and Beware- Unwarranted Cat Cruelty To be very honest, this is not 5 star quality. The plot is formulaic- so similar to a vast number of police thrillers churned out these days – main character with a bit of an attitude problem: scattered with chapters narrated by a victim: questions as to whether the wrong perpetrator has been jailed years ago: a mad dash to save a police officer’s child. Creative writing session? Definitely nothing new.DCI Jack Logan was responsible, years before, for having a man jailed for the kidnap…
