Detective Inspector Romney and his loyal team are dealing with evil on all fronts and against a ticking calendar.

The Romney and Marsh Files now number seven. They don’t have to be read in order; they do all work as stand-alone novels. However, to get the most out of each it is recommended that they are consumed in the order in which they were prepared, a bit like the courses of a good meal. (Who wants to eat ice-cream before a bowl of soup?)

Here are the books of the series in order:

#1 Rope Enough
#2 Making a Killing
#3 Joint Enterprise
#4 A Dog’s Life
#5 Particular Stupidities
#6 Unhappy Families
#7 A White-Knuckle Christmas

Fun read A White Knuckle Christmas is the seventh outing for DI Romney and DS Marsh of Dover CID and is of the same high standard as its predecessors. In the meantime they are also investigating a series of acid attacks…

Fabulous book This is yet another great read from the irrepressible Oliver Tidy. A cracking story from the team at Dover CID which makes for a good way to pass a few hours. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was glad to see the team working on not one but two cases, which is so much more in line with reality. I should imagine many detectives would love to have the time to concentrate on just one case as most crime fiction would have us believe to be the norm. Whilst the team are investigating a murder which…

Believe nobody Oh what a shame, the last book in the series. Once started with volume one I had to keep reading. Mr Tidy owes me a beer!Once again this book had it all. Fallible police, careless and devious criminals all against a backdrop of an imminent Christmas.Mr Oliver creates great characters, plots and scenarios. I had the impression half way through this book that Insp Romney was losing the plot but this was just clever writing written to deceive the reader. Definitely recommended!
