Colourful and Useful, but Too Heavy Amazon do this at a good price, so it’s a bargain given the amount of material. If anything, there’s too much here, more than many visitors will probably need.As usual with the Eyewitness guides, there’s a lot of colourful drawings giving helpful descriptions of areas and sites. However, because the book is so darned heavy, we just left it in the hotel room and referred to it before and after days out, which meant we didn’t maximise our understanding of what we were seeing…

Concise, well illustrated and packed with practical information, this is the best ‘briefing’ you could receive of a new region. I found reviews of the hotels and their location particularly helpful. All in all, an essential help in short-listing destinations. (2/15)
OK in a pinch.. bought this as my friend had already bought the lonely planet guide and all other guides appeared to be outdated. Unfortunately upon comparison between the two this guide lacks quite a lot of information that I would consider to be quite useful.
