Gentle fun with more than a hint of mischief I read the Nicholas series as a child and was absolutely delighted when Phaidon reissued them in these gorgeous cloth bound hard back editions. I now read them to my children with all the glee that I remember from my childhood. They love them.This is my least favourite of the series, not because it’s not funny, it is, but because it doesn’t have all the classic gang members who usually support Nicholas in his naughtiness. Nicholas books are timeless This is a classic and whilst written in the 60’s has great insight into children’s thinking and the character is easily identifiable by chlldren and the adults who read this to their kids. My 7 year old loves these Nicholas books – we have read them all and they are easy to read, short chapters and easy to read a few each night
