History at its most engaging This is such a great idea. I turned immediately to my birthday. I can see everyone else doing that. Every day has a fascinating, short and often unexpected account of an event. Quite a lot are military and political but I was pleased to see that science, literature and engineering are well represented. This is not a book for those pursuing an academic career in history. But it is great for anyone who wants to have a daily dose of history!

Poor delivery I have purchased this book as a gift for a friend. Whilst I’m sure the content is great I am really not too happy with the cover as it is all crumpled and looks far from the perfect gift. Unfortunately for me it is to late to return/exchange
