Relevant for the present! This book was excerpted on Radio 4 a few weeks ago, and sounded fascinating. This proved to be the case. The author travelled around Britain in the wake of the severe flooding a few years back, talking to victims and others who had been through the floods themselves. The book highlights the risks of future floods, and looks into ways in which they might be alleviated or even avoided in the future. Definitely a book for the present climate!

Travels through a sodden land! I rAbsolutely fascinating! I live near Tewkesbury and remember the floods of 2007 and 2012, it was great to read about local floods but also disastrous flooding in other parts of the country too. Edward Platt has written a book full of humour and local memories. Definitely 5 Star!
