Not the excellent Penguin stuff I expected My review is for the M. Beaumont’s Penguin edition of major sci-fi works, not the stories themselves.Since I don’t have Penguin editions for THE Invisible Man and the Island of Dr Moreau, this volume suits me well in that the general editor is P. Parrinder. This compilation of stories includes all the best of Wells. To my pleasant surprise, there is the Empire of the Ants.The major reason for me to have purchased this book is from my experience Beaumont has written excellent essays…
Three Stars Beware very small print
Poor Penguin Penguin made a total hash of the binding so that early pages we cut across text. Amazon sorted replacement quickly. This is the second sub standard Penguin in recent weeks. Who the heck is printing for them?
