It’s autumn in Yulethorpe, and everyone is gloomy. It’s cold and drizzly, and the skies are permagrey. The last shop on the high street – an adorable little toy shop – has just shut its doors. Everything is going wrong for Yulethorpe this autumn. Until Clara Kristensen arrives.

Clara is on holiday, but she can see the potential in the pretty town, so she rolls up her sleeves and sets to work. Things are looking up until Joe comes to Yulethorpe to find out exactly what is going on with his mother’s shop.

Joe is Very Busy and Important in the City and very sure that Clara is up to no good. Surely no-one would work this hard just for the fun of it? Can a man who answers emails at three a.m. learn to appreciate the slower, happier, hygge things in life – naps, candles, good friends, and maybe even falling in love?

Lovely read This is not your typical romcom -it has Danish swearing, cool interior design (now being adopted in my life) and plenty of surprises.I wanted to read it in one sitting, but it got to midnight and I had to sleep. I finished it early Sunday morning, with a coffee, overlooking the Med. Perfect. It definitely shows you practical hygge, and how slowing down (one of my goals) is good for you.

A cosy, positive read. X What a heartwarming book.A big hug snuggled inbetween pages of delight.I loved it.Not to cheesy .Just the right amount of gush.A happy book.A warming book.No need for sceptical, pessimists here.Books are for getting lost in.Realistic or not.Escapism.Louisa (ofcourse) is my favourite character.Or maybe it’s Lady Ca Ca……I love a story that can make you smile. And leave you with a warm glow.Perfect…

Beautiful and sweet Such a wonderful book! Lots of light and loveliness in it but also few serious feelings, missing home, changing you life etc. Characters are easy to connect to and you fall in love with them instantly and want it all to work out for them. The ending is predictable but that is a good thing about it and it left me feeling warm and very happy, just what I’m looking for in this kind of book! Very easy to read and definitely left a grin on my face at the end, and some heart strings pulled. Hygge…
