An evil close to home Oh what a tale. An orphan taken in by an aunt with ulterior motives. Her life made miserable until she meets Arthur. But can anything come of their love with all the evil goings on in the background. A smashing read.

Just like Cinderella! A beautiful young girl from a well to do, loving family is tragically orphaned. Her aunt becomes her guardian, but treats her really badly, more like a servant than loving family. However fate intervenes & she finds her Prince Charming at a ball. Beautifully descriptive. Love these historical romances & knowing there’s always a happy ending is a plus.

A sweet story worth reading!!! Classsic!!!!That was how I felt after reading this beautiful story by Fanny. A story about tragedy, pain and love.Gwendoline a lady has endured tragedies in her life which led her to become an orphan. Her was taken in by her aunt and she knew the happiness she had when her parents were alive was gone. Arthur knew Gwen as a teenager and seeing her again after so many years, would he feel more than brotherly love for her?
