An Almost Perfect Holiday is a warm and witty story of friendship, family and hope, by the Sunday Times bestseller Lucy Diamond.

‘No one creates funny, flawed and immediately relatable characters like Lucy. I adored this book from the very first page’ – Cathy Bramley, bestselling author of A Patchwork Family.

The holidays are here, and down in Cornwall Lorna’s cottages are fully booked. The sun loungers are lined up beside the swimming pool, the sky is blue and a new set of arrivals are on their way . . .

Em’s planned the perfect break with her teenagers plus her new boyfriend, George . . . but now his difficult six-year-old is coming too. Will their romance survive the realities of parenthood?

Maggie’s hoping a seaside holiday will bring her and her daughter closer together, but when her ex makes a surprise reappearance, it changes everything. Can she trust the man who broke her heart?

Olivia has escaped the domestic grind, only for the past to catch up with her. Maybe the time has come to confess all – if she can find the courage . . .

Meanwhile, the teenagers are running wild and love is in the air. With friendship, heartache and secrets in the mix, will this holiday turn out to be a scorcher – or simply too hot to handle?

‘A delight from first page through to last’ – Milly Johnson, bestselling author of The Teashop on the Corner.

An Almost Perfect Story A holiday in Cornwall, four women and their families, all come together and sort their lives out. As always Lucy Diamond writes real people and real problems very well. It is a story that made me smile, laugh and cry a little too. This story brings all four women together, they each have concerns, heartaches and worries but this holiday is where they start to sort things out and see a future ahead of them. I liked the women, as I said they are very real people and very easy to relate…

Modern family tale I have read quite a few Lucy Diamond books and have always enjoyed them. This was no exception. It took a while to get into this one though and I struggled to empathise really with any of the women. It touched on quite a few serious themes and as usual the author’s writing style was excellent.I enjoyed the happy endings for all the characters and whilst I didn’t really feel emotionally involved in the characters lives I did feel that it had very true to life modern family…

An Almost Perfect Holiday by Lucy Diamond a fulfilling five-star read An Almost Perfect Holiday by Lucy Diamond a fulfilling five-star read. This was an overall great read, but there were parts that I didn’t like as much, it just dragged a little bit. This one wasn’t what I was expecting as it was more female friendship and less romance, but it was what the author always manages a great read that will entertain and enthral. Tuck into this book and allow it to take you away to a Cornish seaside, while away the hours listening to the tide of the sea in your mind.
