A rattling good yarn………………… This is the second of Michael Gilbertâs books that I have read & enjoyed, the first being âSmallbone Deceased – A London Mysteryâ – in fact, reading the first prompted me to buy the second almost immmediately.Everything I enjoyed in the first is repeated here- excellent characterisation, convincing dialogue, consistent plot development. The plot itself is very reminiscent of Dorothy L. Sayers âClouds of Witnessâ – the prisoner on trial for their life, the defence team left with a rapidly…
Superb reading !! Brilliant story…. I read it from start to finish in its entirety in one go….I literally did not put it down !Excellent well written story line which does not feel dated yet somehow I can see the BBC making a period drama with it.If you want a good read with a credible plot look no further than ” Death Has Deep Roots ” !!!
Compelling murder mystery Interesting well drawn characters. Loved it so much read in one afternoon/evening.Any more by Michael Gibson I wonder? Smallbone Deceased equally good.
