wonderful illustrations and compelling text A welcome new edition to the previous DK guide. ‘Lonely Planet’ was the only guide I could find available in NZ up until January this year. However, the DK ‘eyewitness’ series are in a different league: wonderful illustrations and compelling text. A great addition to the collection.
Great guide book series for non-budget travellers I really like these “DK Eyewitness” travel guides. I always buy one for the country/city I am going to visit. They provide interesting and practical facts about sightseeing, using the local public transport or driving, getting to/from airports, eating out, going out, shopping, hotels, useful maps of city centres, health and safety tips, some background history, etc.The translations (and pronunciation guide) of common phrases in the local language are useful but limited…
Its ok but you will need Maps Sorry to have given a 3 star but as always with travel books they always have great big splashes of photos but not many words on each place.Travel books should be compact with great information for the traveller. I am going to a wedding in NZ next year and want to plan a trip of a lifetime.Don’t get me wrong this book is helpful but not much info about the smaller places. Maps are not too clear either.
