Short on Detail by Lonely Planet Standards I bought this guide because it covers the area I was planning to visit and I have generally found Lonely Planet guides to be good. But this time I was disappointed as I repeatedly found the coverage to be too superficial and ended up having to do most of my research online. Itâs not hard to see the problem, the book covers a big area with lots to see and at 320 pages itâs simply too short, even shorter than my Rome city guide. Brilliant travel book with a pull out Vancouver map at … Brilliant travel book with a pull out Vancouver map at the back. The book is broken down into the west coast regions and contains maps of the big towns/cities and is so helpful, full of information on where to eat, stay, what to do, so much information. Would recommend to anyone travelling to western Canada.
