Abducted by seven-foot-tall aliens who deal with escape attempts… harshly

Natali: Stay in your room, and don’t come out…

If only I had listened.

I’ve been trapped in my estate since I was young. I long for freedom but the world outside is filled with danger. Scorp will rip you to shreds. Toads will sell you to the highest bidders, and Aurelians… Gods, the things the huge, dominant Aurelians would do to me…

The massive, possessive aliens are obsessed with one thing – finding their Fated Mate and seeding her. If they catch the scent of a mate, nothing holds them back. Driven wild by the thought of their mate, more and more Aurelians are going rogue, kidnapping, capturing, and training their mate to serve their endless desires.

If other families learned of our new fortune, they’d kidnap me and use me as a pawn against my father. No. It’s safer to be behind these walls, and experience the universe through books and my imagination. When three huge, powerful alien warriors arrive, I’m petrified… but I can’t stop myself from taking a closer look.

I shouldn’t have gone anywhere near them.

One glance was all it took for him to capture me.

And only my captors can set me free.

I struggled with this one… I wanted to like this book, like, so so much, but I just couldn’t feel any romance in it what so ever – too much lusting, to the point where I actually felt it ruined the narrative. The heroine zig zags between terror and sexual attraction, but none of it seems logical. The heroes are pretty cold to her. And I get it, their species is suppose to be dominant etc, but too much coldness can come across as abusive and cringey to read. Like, Where’s the appeal in them? They basically take away most…

Taken by the Aurelian Warrriors Another well written alien reverse harem (is that the right term for this?) by Corin Cain. This one has a time jump, humanity has spread through the galaxy. This one has a bit of a slower burn which I enjoyed. Natali is an over protected innocent who’s only knowledge of the world is her books, especially her favourite “On Aurelians”. Three Alpha Aurelians appear in her home – scary but Natali is drawn to them as they are to her. As the title implies Natali is “taken”…

Trouble is coming…. This can be read as a stand-alone, but to get the best you should read the earlier booksA good read and the ending is not obvious which Is always appreciatedA couple of small errors in the telling of the story, but forgivableI received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
