If you love 2001, you will love this This book is a MUST if you love the film. There is a lot of data here over and above Piers Bizony’s work. The first thing that struck me was the quantity of data, drawings and blueprints. Harry Lange (HL) generated so much detailed work for the film and luckily for us Chris Frayling dug this out of Lange’s garage and with the help of HL’s son, produced this excellent book. Brilliant Brilliant, this is probably all of the extent drawings by Harry Lange, aand shows the progress towards the final style of the film. Some of the comments by the model-malers and their direction is very interesting.
