Well written 🙂 Big fan of The Miniaturist here so I did a wee jig when I saw this become available on Netgalley so thank you for the opportunity. This book is very different although similarly frustrating at the end as I’m a luddite who needs all the answers spelled out to them but if you accept that that’s what you get with this author then you will enjoy this book! It’s well written and the characters are brilliant.

Beautifully written, great plot and characters . The Confession is definitely one of those books that’s a slow burner but once you have read the last page you feel rather bereft that you have finished it. Think I will be in “book mourning” for a few days. This book was beautifully written, and fantastic plot builder with some wonderful female characters- a book about love, motherhood and friendship. The contrast of the Rose’s story in the UK and the Elise and Connie’s in LA worked fairly well but I favoured reading Rose’s part of this tale…

A cracking read Another cracking read from Jessie Burton. This has two timeframes and locations – Hollywood in the 1980s and present day London, and deals with the lives of three very different but all interesting women. Elise, Connie and Rose and all very believable and all very human and flawed in their own ways. The narratives intersect well and the two different settings are equally well-drawn.Anyone who enjoys reading about women learning about their own identities would love this novel…
