Compelling true life story This is an incredibly compelling story of a family tragedy – Darren seems a bit of a rough and ready character but his emotions come through clearly – his sorrow at the loss of his daughter and his rage at his stepson (it’s a miracle that he and Anji are still together). I never really followed this story on the news at the time, so the shocking events came as a surprise to me. What a shame that they ignored Becky’s all too genuine fears about her stepbrother which lead to such an unthinkable…
Such a sad story becky was stunning & never realised it then … Everyone saying the mother should be mentioned more Hhmm I don’t think so..?! Social services don’t take your children in to care for no reason ?!! Becky adored her stepmother and didn’t even know she wasn’t her real mum how can that be if the real mum was still present and caring? A definite must read! INSPIRING! I managed to read this book in just a few days. It was gripping and heartbreaking. The strength both darren and anjie have had is inspirational. Darren you truly made me fall in love with person becky was becoming. This book is truly inspiring and I would highly recommend reading it. Thank you darren for letting us into your life.
